Derek and Thomas met on Tinder, an online dating app, and had their first date on January 4th 2022. After the first date consisted of a horribly boring movie and an awkward kiss, the second date involved an upset stomach holding Derek hostage in a mall washroom for several hours while Thomas waited outside and they texted back and forth. With those experiences being the first two dates, they are not sure why there even was a third date, but there must have been something special happening because here they are sharing the rest of their lives together deeply in love.

Derek and Thomas currently live in Coquitlam BC but are excited to relocate to Halifax late 2027/early 2028. They are excited to be closer to family and for Derek to pursue his Masters Degree in Social Work at Dalhousie University.

Together, they have two pets; a pug named Hank and a cat named Colin, plus a heavily populated fish tank. They share a passion for video games, gardening, good food, and cozy days together at home watching movies.
